Chelsea Football Club is delighted to announce Audi as our new global official car partner. We have signed a three-year deal with the German car maker, which will see Audi branding featuring on the Stamford Bridge LED boards at home matches, with racing-style Audi seats to be incorporated into the dugouts. Audi joins an impressive list of global sponsors of Chelsea, headed by premium partners adidas and Samsung, and most recently complemented by the Sauber F1 team, with whom we partnered at the beginning of the month. Chelsea chief executive Ron Gourlay said today: ‘It is exciting for Chelsea Football Club to sign this deal with a premium company, renowned for its excellent track record in elite performance and manufacturing. ‘Audi is a phenomenal global partner for us as one of the world’s most successful car brands, and we look forward to working closely with them.’ Audi UK director Martin Sander added: ‘Chelsea offers us the broadest scope for future opportunities, and our brands are very closely aligned in terms of innovation and progressiveness, or “Vorsprung durch Technik” as we call it. ‘Their focus on high performance and sports science, where we are looking to share knowledge and best practice between their top performers and Audi elite racing drivers, demonstrates how perfectly Chelsea’s forward-looking philosophy matches ours.’ Peter Schwarzenbauer, member of the board of management for marketing and sales of AUDI AG, added: ‘We cordially welcome Chelsea to the Audi football family.

Seat-Massager Showdown: Rubbers from Audi, Jaguar, and Mercedes Compared – CAR AND DRIVER

Some might call us nitpickers, but we prefer to think of ourselves as students of minutiae. Things like the feel of radio-tuning knobs—and they’d better be knobs; rocker switches awaken our inner Hulk—and window switches—a detent for the auto up/down, Alfred— matter . Considered from the point of  view of  like-minded nitpi— er , minutiatti, our seat-testing record bore a great, gaping hole. We’ve expounded on the size, shape, and firmness of  bolsters, the quality of  materials, and the length of bottom cushions and their corresponding thigh support but have never determined which luxury automaker’s seats give the best massage—and whether or not any come close to that given by a human. To rectify this oversight, we picked up a few topiaries and a CD of  humpback-whale songs to get us in the spa mind-set (track 7, “Orcas Ate My Baby, But This Krill Is Uncommonly Flavorful,” was simply mesmerizing) and drew up a roster. Mercedes buyers have enjoyed personalized spinal care since the first Benz was built in 1886  but have been getting rudimentary massages in their cars—without some risky gymnastics, anyway—since the company first installed stimulating seats in the 2000 S-class.

Audi’s new futuristic electric bike was designed for fun – SmartPlanet.com

Audi, known globally for performance oriented cars and chic designs, revealed a two wheel model at the Worthersee Autonews 2012 show, a meet-up of Audi, Volkswagen, Seat and Skoda (and their fans) in Carinthia, Austria. The new bike, called the Audi e-bike Worthersee, is a lithium-iron-battery powered e-bike that according to Audi, explores technological limits on the basis of Audi’s core competences: design, connect, ultra, and e-tron to make a unique and innovative sport bike. Neither a straight electric nor a normal bicycle, the company describes the prototype as “high-end pedelec” that’s made specifically for “sport, fun and tricks.” The design is super-futuristic, probably for the reason of steering away from other bike concepts. Audi wants us to know that this bike, like their cars, is performance, speed and flash-driven. The e-bike is very light, the carbon-fiber frame weighing in at only 3.53 pounds, and the 26-inch wheels (made from Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer) weigh only 1.32 pounds each

Audi Allroad Sleeper Wins Drag Race with Ferrari 458 Italia [Video] – autoevolution

The Audi Allroad might have four-wheel drive, but that is the only theoretical strong point of this in a drag race. However, an owner that’s just crazy about his C5 Allroad (this is the first generation of the car) decided to have it fully loaded with tech mods and then drag race supercars on a daily basis. We don’t know what tech goodies the vehicle was gifted with, but we’ve brought along the adjacent video, which shows is winning a drag race with a Ferrari 458 Italia. However, the clip’s “credits” section does offer a few hints, as the following aftermarket developers are thanked” Drift Innovation, Vast Performance, Tyrol Sport, Bahn Burner USA and, maybe the most important one, Borg Warner, the supplier of what is believed to be the twin-turbo setup of the car.

Audi introduces e-bike Wörthersee at Wörthersee – AutoWeek

Referring to Austria’s Wörthersee as “Lake Wörthersee” is akin to calling the massive collection of saline water in the middle of Utah “Lake Great Salt Lake,” ” see ” being German for “lake.” Audi, though, doesn’t care what you call it, as long as you take a gander at its new e-bike Wörthersee. Predictably, it’s set to debut at this weekend’s GTI Treffen am Wörthersee. Featuring a featherweight carbon-fiber frame, the electro-moped-cum-trials-bike weighs in at a rather light 47 pounds. The electric motor connected directly to the bottom bracket delivers 184.39 lb-ft of twist. For reference, that’s nearly double the peak torque of a Suzuki Hayabusa. It does not, however, share the two-wheeled Shinkansen train’s ludicrous top speed.
